We provide our students with a high benchmark of design and technical excellence. Our courses are highly reflective of current trends and thinking. Guest lectures, live projects and opportunities to work on placements and internships with national and international fashion brands are embedded in to the curriculum.
The University of Northampton is the only UK University to have a working tannery on campus where students across the subject area can learn about leather production processes. It should also be noted that the leather industry surrounds us giving us a competitive edge.
We thrive on encouraging our students to develop confident and individual approaches to the design development process. Our students are constantly challenged to go beyond the boundaries of conventional approaches to fashion, fashion marketing, surface design, printed textiles, footwear and accessories. The University of Northampton is committed to ensuring that our students gain a global understanding of the market place that they will enter. We have shown our student work at fashion shows in China, trade fairs in India and we are the only UK design school to showcase student work at Lineapelle in Italy.
